  • 27% never had coffee
  • 23% drank 2 to 3 cups every day
  • 19% had 1 cup a day
  • 17% drank more than 3 cups of coffee
  • 14% had less than a cup of coffee per day

Now, after that, it was noticed the rates at which people were getting hospitalized for Acute Kidney Injury. After looking at the demographic factors, it was found that people who consumed any kind or amount of coffee were seen at an 11% lower risk of developing Acute Kidney Injury. This was said after the comparison with individuals who did not consume coffee.

The researchers also added that the relationship between Acute Kidney Injury and coffee consumption was seen as more substantial and the risk was reduced when the consumption was 2 to 3 cups of coffee every day.

It was also added by the researchers that the other additives in coffee like milk, sugar, sweeteners, and creamer can also add to the outcomes and can further alter the research investigation.

It was also pointed out that these additives can also add to the reduction of the risk of kidney diseases. It was also noticed during the research that the consumption of soda, tea, and other beverages was also considered a possible factor in reducing the risk of kidney diseases.
