When you start to see the dust and dirt accumulate on every surface of your home, it can be tempting to give up and hire a professional cleaner. But before you do, there are a few things you can do to clean your home yourself – and we’ve outlined them for you in this article!

How to Clean a Surface

  1. Start by cleaning the area where the dirt will be deposited. This includes all surfaces that will come in contact with the dirt, including the floor and walls.
  2. Rinse the surface with water and a mild soap.
  3. Use a scrubber to remove any embedded dirt or debris.
  4. Wipe down the surface with a dry cloth to remove any residual soap or water.
  5. Allow the surface to dry completely before using it again.

How to Clean a Countertop

Countertops can be a mess, but with some basic cleaning techniques, they can be made look and smell great. Here are four ways to clean a countertop:

  1. Use hot water and dish soap: Fill a sink with hot water and add enough dish soap to cover the surface of the counter. Swish the dishes and counter around in the soapy water for about 30 seconds, then rinse them off.
  2. Use a vacuum cleaner: If you have a vacuum cleaner, use it to clean the countertop. Turn on the vacuum cleaner and position it so that the bristles are touching the surface of the countertop. Start at one end of the counter and move slowly down towards the other end. Be sure to clean under all cabinets and appliances as well.
  3. Use a dustpan and brush: If you don’t have access to a vacuum cleaner or don’t want to bother cleaning under cabinets, use a dustpan and brush to clean up debris on the countertop. Sweep up any dirt or food particles, then brush off any excess debris.
  4. Use vinegar: Vinegar is another great way to clean surfaces like counterstops. Fill a bowl or container with vinegar, then place it on top of the debris on the countertop. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then scrub away any dirt or stains with a brush or your fingers.

How to Clean a Floor

If you’re like most people, your floor is one of the places where you leave dirt and dust untouched for weeks on end. Unfortunately, this neglect also means that your floor is more likely to become dirty and cluttered over time. Here are some tips on how to clean a floor:

  1. Sweep and mop regularly: Sweeping and mopping are the most basic ways to clean a floor. Just be sure to sweep in an upward direction to get rid of larger pieces of dirt and debris, andmop the surface twice daily to remove dried sweat, wax, or other residue.
  2. Use a vacuum cleaner with a dustbin: If sweeping and mopping aren’t doing the trick, you can try using a vacuum cleaner with a dustbin. Just be sure to use the correct attachments – such as a crevice tool for tight spaces – and set the machine to low suction mode.
  3. Use a Swiffer WetJet: If vacuuming isn’t an option or if your floor is particularly dirty, you can try using a Swiffer WetJetinstead. This cleaning solution is made up of water, detergent, air pressure, and heat; it’s basically a mini-washer/dryer combo that helps rid floors of dirt, dust, grease, and other particles without having to scrubbing or using harsh chemicals
